Free Youth Transit Pass

All riders 18 and younger can take transit for free. We’re very excited to welcome more youth to the freedom of transit. Pierce Transit provided more than 1 million free youth transit rides in 2025.

How to Get Your Free Youth Transit Pass

Kitsap Ferries

Kitsap Transit
Pierce Transit
Seattle Streetcar
Sound Transit
Washington State Ferries

How it Works

Youth are highly encouraged to use a Youth ORCA card (also known as a Free Youth Transit Pass) when they ride transit. Alternatively, youth can show their Student ID to the driver as they board and to any transit official upon request. Youth who do not have a Youth ORCA card or Student ID can still ride for free.
