New Podcast Episode Features More Within Reach: All About Prop 1

On the latest episode of South Sound Connected, we learn about the Pierce Transit ballot measure going before voters on November 3rd. Episode guests are Chelsea and Dezra who've worked for the past year gathering public input to shape the plan and who are now helping educate the public on it. We’ll also learn what services would be maintained and which would be expanded as part of the proposed measure.

Alternate Access to TCC Park & Ride on Saturday, Sept. 26

On Saturday, Sept. 26, Tacoma Community College will be striping parking stalls in several lots and working in the roundabout that connects to the Park & Ride. The Park & Ride will remain open but the main entrance will be closed in order to paint directional arrows in the lane. To ensure access to the Park & Ride is maintained, surrounding entry points at the Mildred St. entrance to C Lot and the entrance off 19th Street, just east of A Lot, will be open. Labor Day Holiday Schedule

Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 7; Pierce Transit will run on a Sunday schedule. The Customer Service Center will be closed with no phone service. SHUTTLE reservations will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with cancellations and same-day trip information available from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

An over-height vehicle struck the bridge on August 18, causing significant damage and leading to its immediate closure. The closure caused significant travel disruptions, with temporary shuttle services being established to help residents travel between the two cities.
