Our Major Strategic Goals
Pierce Transit has embarked on a 6-year Strategic Plan for 2024-2029. The plan is comprised of four major Strategic Goals:
Adopt a “customer first” mindset
The first corner of the “strategic building,” and the foremost goal, is to foster a customer first mindset throughout our organization, ensuring that our riders’ needs, comfort, safety and satisfaction are at the heart of everything we do.
Engage with the community through outreach and partnerships.
Next to holding customers as the highest priority, ensuring the broader community is also engaged and supportive is critical to the long-term sustainability of the agency. Partnerships with public, community and private organizations are critical to our role in the community and fulfilling our mission.
Elevate the employee experience.
Assure the sustainability of the agency’s finances, infrastructure and the environment.

In order to ensure we’re making progress on the metrics and milestones included in the plan, the agency has developed the Strategic Plan Accountability Dashboard which is displayed below and available for members of the public to view at any time. Our goal is to heighten awareness, increase transparency and show the community that Pierce Transit is working hard to deliver safe, reliable and accessible transportation services.
