Public Invited to Participate in Local Celebratory Events
To mark the first day of Ride Transit Month, Pierce Transit will offer fare-free rides on Monday, June 1, 2026. June is recognized annually as Ride Transit Month. Nationwide, transit agencies, advocates and partner organizations promote transit use during the month and coordinate activities and events that encourage community members to ride transit.
The free rides are valid on all regularly scheduled Pierce Transit bus service, SHUTTLE and Runner on-demand services.
The public is invited to Transit Trivia on Tuesday, June 9 at 5:30pm. Registration is required and space is limited; details can be found here. Transit Trivia is a family friendly event celebrating the benefits of local, regional and worldwide transit.
Ride Transit to Market Day is Thursday, June 11 in downtown Tacoma, in partnership with the Broadway Farmers Market. Ride public transit and stop by the Pierce Transit booth between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to share your transit story, ask questions and get information. Those who ride transit to the market can get a prize (while supplies last) by sharing this phrase of the day with booth staff: “Bus it or Link it, just take it — to the market”.
