Independence Day (Observed) Holiday Schedule

Pierce Transit will observe the Independence Day holiday on Friday, July 3. Buses will be on a Sunday schedule. The Customer Service Center will be closed and there will be no phone service. SHUTTLE reservations will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and cancellations and same day trip information will be available 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Pierce Transit Invites Public Comment on Transit Development Plan

Pierce Transit’s Transit Development Plan (TDP) looks back at work accomplished in 2025 and describes planned activities from 2026 through 2031. The report includes the agency’s services and operations, goals and strategies, performance measures, consistency with other plans, planned service and operating changes, planned capital expenses, a multiyear financial plan, and projects of regional significance. The TDP is submitted to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) annually. The draft Pierce Transit 2026-2031 Transit Development Plan is posted to the agency’s website at PierceTransit.org/public-documents. Additional Payment Option for Runner Riders

Beginning July 1, there will be an additional way to pay for your Runner rides. If you book your ride through the Pierce Transit On Demand app, you can now pay directly in the app using a credit or debit card on a per-ride basis. All existing payment options will continue to be accepted, including Transit App, Token Transit app, ORCA card, and passes. Discounted fares are available for qualified passengers when using an ORCA card. Please note: Cash is not accepted, and youth 18 and younger ride free.
