Sixteen routes with adjustments, Stream Community Line extended to Commerce
On Sunday, March 29, Pierce Transit will make schedule improvements to many of its bus routes and extend its Stream Community Line route into Tacoma’s downtown core.
The schedule changes will allow buses that stop at the same place to come together at a similar time, and arrive on time more often, significantly improving the transit experience for riders, especially those making connections. Trips have been added to two routes thereby increasing frequency.
Stream Community Line, a partnership with MultiCare, will now serve Commerce Street Station. Four new stops have been added to Stream Community Line between Tacoma Dome Station (TDS) and Commerce Street Station. At TDS, Stream Community Line passengers travelling northbound towards downtown will use Zone D and those travelling southbound towards Spanaway will use Zone A.
Route 1, travelling between Tacoma Community College and Spanaway, has 8 northbound and 10 southbound trips added to its weekday schedule, resulting in 15-minute frequency between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Route 3 has 9 northbound and 10 southbound trips added to its weekday schedule with 15-minute frequency between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Route 11 timetables are adjusted to better align with school bell schedules.
Details on all Pierce Transit service changes can be found at PierceTransit.org/service-change and on the Transit app.
